How long are we, as an ally of Israel, going to tolerate the anti-Semitic ravings of the President of Iran? Let me qualify this by stating that I am not Jewish, I simply believe that if we are to be considered Israel’s ally then the time is long past due for us to step up and stand by their side. If not, what kind of an ally are we and who will stand by us in the future if we let Israel hang out on a limb?
What am I talking about? Iranian President Ahmadinejad has once again spoke of the destruction of Israel:
"With God's help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine," Ahmadinejad said in a speech. . .. . . "If you make a mistake and create another war against the oppressed Lebanese nation, this time the angry ocean of the nations of the region will remove your rotten ... roots from the region," the president said in another speech on Sunday night. I suppose that with a congress that is trying to cut an run as soon as possible from the war in Iraq’ it is too much to hope that we will step up to the aid of our Israeli allies. Never mind the fact that it is in everyone in the free, non-Islamic world’s best interest to take this lunatic out as soon as possible, it is much more important for American politicians to keep their collective political backsides covered and run from the greatest evil since Hitler.
The political correctness and touchy feely approach to dealing with evil is not working. People like the Iranian president do not respond to meaningless UN sanctions. They know there are plenty of nations in the world who will buy their oil, they don’t need to listen to the UN and they won’t. He openly thumbs his nose to the “community of nations” and goes on about fulfilling his goal of wiping out Israel and becoming a nuclear power. As American politicians position themselves for the 2008 election I have a suggestion for both parties; FIND A CANDIDATE WITH A BACK BONE!links: digg this del.icio.us technorati reddit
