Ferdinand and Isabella must be rolling over in their graves as Spain continues to become the focus of Islamic “reconquista”. From the proposed tunnel linking the Iberian Peninsula to Morocco to the wave if immigration that is overwhelming southern Spain, the signs are all there that a movement is afoot to reclaim the land in the name of Islam. Now we get confirmation in the form of the emergence of Al Qaeda in Morocco:
Madrid (dpa) - The emergence of a new al-Qaeda-linked organization in Northern Africa is alarming Spain, which is concerned about Islamists' calls for the reconquest of the country they regard as a lost part of the Muslim world."We will not be in peace until we set our foot again in our beloved al-Andalus," al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb said on claiming responsibility for an attack which killed at least 24 people in Algiers on Wednesday. The liberal socialist president seems content to look the other way and give away the security of Spain in the name of political correctness. He has shown that he is willing to go to any lengths to appease Islamists; he is so deluded that he seems to believe that this will serve his nation best in the long run.
Tourists flock to Spain every year, and the Islamic palaces and mosques that dot the landscape of southern Spain have long been favorites among foreign visitors. Will they still have their appeal once the entire region is under Islamic control? Make no mistake, they do not want to live in peace, they want to reclaim the land in the name of their religion and are now stating it openly. Spain is but a first step in reclaiming land that they lost to the Christians centuries ago.
